About the Project

Housing is a complex issue and the housing needs of Islanders are diverse. As part of a federally-funded applied research project, we are conducting a province-wide Housing Needs Assessment using an updated approach to better understand the housing issues facing Island communities. This project aims to give communities and the provincial government an enhanced understanding of current and future housing-related needs, in order to better plan for the future. The results of the project will help all levels of government, community, and the private sector work to improve access to safe and suitable housing that meets Islanders’ needs.

Project Leadership: This project is led and administered by Turner Drake & Partners Ltd. with ASBB Economics and Research, under the Research and Knowledge Initiative of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada. The provincial Housing Needs Assessment is being conducted with technical support from UPLAND Planning + Design Studio.

Partners & Funding: This project is possible thanks to the technical assistance and supplemental funding support of the Province of Prince Edward Island. It is majority funded by the Government of Canada.

This project is funded in part by the Government of Canada.
