About the Project

This initiative seeks to improve how residents and visitors move throughout West Hants, building a more sustainable community where active transportation is not only safe and easy, but also enjoyable! By improving connections across the Municipality, the final strategy will also strengthen community ties and bring people together, making West Hants a lively and connected place for everyone, regardless of age or ability.

Active transportation (AT) refers to modes of human-powered transportation, including walking and rolling (referring to the use of wheelchairs and other assistive devices), cycling, rollerblading and skateboarding, seasonal activities like kayaking and snowshoeing, as well as some motorized forms of transportation, such as e-bikes and electric wheelchairs.
